First Active has announced that it is acting as mortgage broker for the country’s first private, affordable housing in Ballyfermot, Dublin.
The €55 million scheme, which was launched this morning by the Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern, consists of 374 houses in phase one with a mixture of private and social housing.
First Active, which will be offering private buyers mortgages while the Government provides mortgages for affordable housing buyers, is offering mortgages with no valuation fees, interest free loans on the back of First Time Buyers grants and 30 repayment plans.
The scheme was launched to give potential first time buyers the opportunity to get their feet on the housing ladder.
