Racing: Mick Fitzgerald's second operation on the neck injury he sustained after his fall from L'Ami in the Grand National is reported to have been a success.
Fitzgerald underwent five hours of surgery and will be assessed on an ongoing basis.
His neck is now supported by a fixed brace rather than a halo and if he continues to progress, plans will be made in the near future for him to return home.
Fitzgerald also had surgery on his knee to repair severe ligament damage, which also went well.
