GAA:As expected, Ambrose Rogers will not be fit for Down when they take on Kildare in Sunday's All-Ireland football semi-final. Peter Fitzpatrick will replace the midfielder for the match at Croke Park.
Rogers suffered a strain of his cruciate knee ligament during a recent club match and, despite declaring himself available for selection earlier the week, will not be risked from the start by manager James McCartan.
Fitzpatrick, a second-half replacement for Kalum King during the county’s stunning quarter-final win over Kerry, will start in his stead. Elsewhere, it’s a case of as you were for the Mourne County, with McCartan keeping faith with the personnel who overcame the defending champions the last day.
Down will be bidding to reach their first All-Ireland final since 1991.The winners of Sunday's match will meet Cork in the final on September 19th.
