Five people have been injured in Co Limerick after a trailer carrying a small steam roller became detached from the lorry towing it and hit a number of cars.
Four men and a woman were injured in the incident, which took place at Pallasgreen on the N24 between Limerick and Tipperary.
Gardaí said one of the men was seriously hurt. The injured, some of whom had to be cut from their cars, are being treated at the Mid-West Regional Hospital in Limerick.
The road has been closed to traffic and diversions have been put in place.
