Three people were in a critical condition in hospital last night after a car crash in Co Mayo. The incident, which involved three cars carrying five people, occurred at about 3.45pm at Cloonturk on the Kilkelly to Knock road.
Two men in their twenties and a 16-year-old girl were travelling in the same car and suffered the most severe injuries. They were rushed to Castlebar General Hospital. The other two people involved, a woman in her sixties and a man in his seventies, were also brought to hospital suffering minor injuries.
A 42-year-old man was killed in a single car crash on the Tullow to Castledermot road at about 4pm yesterday. A 29-year-old man died in a car crash in Co Limerick on Saturday. The single-vehicle collision occurred shortly before 4am in Granagh.
