Five men arrested as part of investigations into criminal activity in the southeast were granted bail when they appeared in court yesterday.
The five, all from south Kilkenny, were brought before Waterford District Court where details were given by gardaí of their arrest, charge and caution.
They were all remanded on bail by Judge Kevin Staunton to appear again before the court next Tuesday.
They have been told to sign on at their local Garda station once a week and not to have any contact with witnesses.
Mark Delahunty of Bigwood, Mullinavat, was charged with violent disorder and criminal damage. Liam Delahunty of Bigwood is also charged with violent disorder and criminal damage.
Shane Dungan from Glendonnell, Mullinavat, is charged with violent disorder and criminal damage.
Mark Dempsey of Garrandarragh, Mullinavat, is charged with the theft of a car radio in 2005.
Richard Lannon from Deerpark, Mullinavat, is charged with a breach of the Misuse of Drugs Act and made no reply in the Garda station when charged.
Insp Anthony Lonergan asked that each of the accused be remanded.
