Biridi, India - Swirling floodwaters marooned more than one million people in India's eastern state of Orissa yesterday and officials warned of worse to come with more monsoon rains forecast.
Over the past 10 days, floods have killed an estimated 39 people, washed away 4,000 houses and damaged 18,000 homes in the impoverished coastal state, many parts of which are still recovering from a massive cyclone.
