Mr Stephen Henderson has resigned as chief executive of FLS Aerospace, to allow him to spend more time with his family in the United States.

FLS Industries, the parent company of FLS Aerospace made the announcement in a statement to the Danish Stock Exchange today. FLS acquired the former TEAM Aer Lingus aircraft maintenance business in 1998.

The statement added that Mr Henderson will continue as a member of the board of directors of FLS Aerospace.

Mr Mike Humphreys, who currently holds the position of group vice president, strategic planning, will be acting chief executive Officer until a Mr Henderson’s successor is ready to take up the position.

FLS Aerospace wished Mr Henderson every success in the future and noted the major initiatives undertaken at FLSA such as Formula 1 (the aircraft overhaul efficiency programme) during Mr Henderson’s tenure.

A replacement for the post of chief executive will be found as quickly as possible, the company said. Talks are taking place with several prospective candidates and an agreement is likely to be reached within a short time.
