The trial of former Government adviser Phil Flynn on weapons and ammunitions charges was adjourned today.

Mr Flynn (65) appeared before Judge Anne Ryan in Richmond District Court in Dublin to answer charges of possession of a pen-gun and mini tear gas canisters without a certificate.

But the hearing was put back until December 16th after a request by Patrick Gageby SC for Mr Flynn. Mr Gageby said: "Counsel is awaiting certain forensic aspects of the case."

Last month Mr Flynn's case was adjourned after it emerged that a member of his family had died.
