A GAA faotballer appeared in Dublin District Court yesterday accused of breaking the jaw of a player from an opposing team during a match last March.
Mr Terry Murphy (22), of Newbrook Avenue, Donaghmede, Dublin, from the Trinity Gaels club, is charged with assaulting the player and occasioning him actual bodily harm during an under 21 club final at the GAA grounds, Kilbarrack Road, Dublin, on March 27th 1993.
Garda Ciaran McCahey, of Howth Garda Station, said it was alleged by the prosecution that the injured football player suffered a broken jaw and had to stay in hospital for three days after Mr Murphy allegedly struck him a blow to the head.
