Team News: Mattie Forde believes Wexford have what it takes to defeat Meath in their Leinster SFC this Sunday at Dr Cullen Park.

The NFL Division Three winners meet the Royal County, who easily had the measure of Carlow in their Leinster championship opener, but Forde still remains confident.

"Five or six years ago Wexford would have been 90 per cent beaten before they went on the pitch against a Meath or an Offaly or a Dublin," said Forde.

"I think there has been a shift in attitudes. We have beaten Meath the last four times we have played them in league and championship."

Wexford manager Jason Ryan will give championship debuts to Anthony Masterson and Nicky O'Sullivan for the Meath game.

Masterson takes over from the retired John Cooper in goals, while O'Sullivan comes into the halfback line.

Paddy Colfer and Rory Stafford will also make their first starts of the year at full forward and midfield respectively.

Meanwhile suspended Dublin forward Bernard Brogan has accepted his eight-week ban following his side's brawl with Meath last month. It means Brogan will miss Dublin's Leinster SFC opener against Louth on Sunday, June 8th.

Brogan decided against taking his case to the Disputes Resolution Authority (DRA).

"I though the penalties were heavy enough, I suppose that's what they have to do to keep the discipline in the game," said Brogan.

"But they were fairly harsh. When you're playing for the capital you always have that extra eye on you and you have to go out and behave accordingly.

"That's what we have to accept playing for Dublin."
