Armagh 0-12 Wexford 1-14: He may have been hampered by a thigh injury but Mattie Forde managed to provide a virtuoso performance today and carry his county through to the All-Ireland semi-finals.
Jason Ryan's side were given little chance coming into today's contest and, in truth, looked doomed to defeat at the hands of the Ulster champions for most of the afternoon.
But a late surge from the Yellowbelly men, spearheaded by their prolific full forward, turned the tide and ensured this season's surprise package will have at least one more day in the sun.
Armagh, with a heavily stacked defence, dominated the opening exchanges but an inability to convert possession into scores would come back to haunt them. Peter McDonnell's side huffed and puffed, but never quite managed to blow the Wexford house down.
Instead, Wexford hung in there and despite managing just one point from play trailed by just one score at the interval (0-6 to 0-5).
Nevertheless, Armagh continued to look the more likely winners and when Steven McDonnell opened a 0-10 to 0-8 lead with two quick points midway through the second half it appeared they would finally kill off the match.
But Wexford would not lie down, and their fighting spirit was rewarded when Forde latched on to a long ball to fire into an empty net.
Ciaran Lyng and Redmond Barry edged Wexford clear before Forde finished with a flourish, the former All-Star picking off a couple of stunning points to seal an amazing win.
