Matty Forde has been handed a 12-week suspension by the GAA's Central Disciplinary Committiee following an incident involving the Wexford player during their All-Ireland Leinster semi-final clash with Ofally at Croke Park.

The decision was reached at today's meeting, which Forde did not attend, just as he didn't attend previous scheduled meetings last Wednesday and yesterday. Forde was invited before the CDC after video evidence showed an alleged stamping incident on  Offaly full-back Shane Sullivan.

Forde's ban commences from July 2nd when the incident occurred against Offaly. The first game he misses will be today's third round qualifier against Fermanagh.

Meanwhile Cork's Anthony Lynch successfully appealed the red card he received during last weekend's Munster football final where Cork drew with Kerry. It means Lynch is eligible to play in tomorrow's replayed final.
