A forensic examination of clothes revealed nothing to connect a Ballymun man with an elderly woman who was raped in a park last year, a jury in the Central Criminal Court was told yesterday. Earlier, a doctor said that the woman had sustained extensive bruising and a fracture to her face.

A Ballymun man has pleaded not guilty to charges of rape, aggravated sexual assault and sexual assault of the woman in a park near Dublin City University on August 5th, 1996.

The accused man, who is in his thirties, has also pleaded not guilty to inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent to maim, disfigure or disable the woman.
