Former New Zealand jump jockey Ken Browne is fighting for his life after breaking his neck in a fall last night.
The 67-year-old, regarded as the "father of jump racing in New Zealand", is on a life support machine and the New Zealand Heraldreported he had to be resuscitated more than once.
Browne was found unconscious yesterday at his property when a young horse he was training returned riderless.
His wife Ann said the horse had "nose-dived and he did too."
