Four men have arrested in Co Louth after a car chase on Thursday night appeared at a special sitting of Drogheda District Court this morning.

John Connors, aged 29, of Rathmichael Halting Site, Shankill, Dublin, Patrick Wall, aged 23, of Sli na Riogh Apartments, Kilcullen Road, Naas, Co Kildare; Martin Wall, aged 28, of Fortunestown Lane in Tallaght; and 27-year-old Dan Wall of Sundale Grove, Tallaght, were charged with two counts of burlgary at Ardee and Dundalk. 

Officers from the National Bureau of Criminal Investigation set up a checkpoint late on Thursday night as part of an operation into serious crime committed in the north Louth area over several months.

The court was told that a number of Garda cars were rammed and a 20-mile chase ensued before the car was stopped and the four occupants were arrested.
