Three Britons and a Spaniard have been remanded in custody after they were charged today in connection with four drug seizures totalling over €20,000 at Cork Airport.
The four men were all detained by customs officers after they arrived inCork airport yesterday on a flight from Malaga in Spain and they were later arrested by Gardai.
All four appeared at a special sitting of Cork District Court this morning where they were each charged with two offences contrary to the Misuse of Drugs Act.
Spaniard, Hector Flores (29) with an address at Orgiva, Grenada in Spain was charged with possessing and possessing cannabis for sale or supply at Cork airport on August 30th.
Britons, Ashleigh Clatworthy (21) and John Collins (42) both with addresses at Orgiva, Grenada were also charged with possession and possession of cannabis for sale or supply at Cork airport.
A third Briton, Thomas Irving (25) with an address at Bridge House, Church Close, Mersham, Kent in the UK was also charged with the same two offences.
Garda Insp Eileen Foster applied for a remand in custody, there was no application for bail and Judge Olan Kelleher remanded all four accused in custody to appear in court again next Monday.
