Four people were killed on roads in the Republic this weekend, including a member of a robbery gang.
A 29-year-old woman was killed in a single vehicle accident near Tullamore in the early hours of Saturday.
She was named yesterday as Clare Cusack of Kilurine, Tullamore, Co Offaly.
A Czech national, Stanislav Chrastek, was also killed in a single vehicle accident when his truck crashed at Kilmeaden, Co Waterford shortly before 8 a.m. on Saturday.
The dead man had been working for a company in Castletimon, Co Cork.
On Saturday night an 18-year-old motorcyclist was killed shortly after 9 p.m. when he collided with a pick-up truck at Garyhill, Co Carlow.
He was named as Mark Flynn from Garyhill.
Yesterday morning the driver of a hijacked car was killed following a raid on a petrol station near Castleblayney.
Michael Brady, of Beauchamp Gardens, Dublin, died instantly when the car went out of control near Ardee, Co Louth after 7 a.m.
There has been a steady rise in road fatalities this year.
The weekend deaths bring to 279 the number of people killed on the State's roads since January 1st.
