Four men arrested in connection with a foiled armed robbery in west Dublin on Friday in which a man was shot dead have been released without charge.
A garda spokesman said the men were released from Lucan and Ronanstown garda stations shortly after midday and that files for the Director of Public Prosecutions were being prepared.
Gareth Molloy (28) was shot dead and another man wounded by undercover gardai on Friday afternoon as five men attempted a heist outside a shop in Lucan.
Gardaí moved in as the men, including at least one armed with a sawn-off shotgun, targeted a cash-in-transit crew delivering money to an ATM in the busy Centra store in Foxborough Road.
Garda Ombudsman officials are due to carry out door-to-door inquiries today as part of their investigation into the incident.
An incident room has also been set up at the Garda Ombudsman¿s offices in Abbey Street in central Dublin.
