Four men have died following a head-on collision involving a car and a truck in Co Down.
The collision happened at around 5pm on the Tandrageee Road, about three miles from Newry.
The dead were travelling in a car which collided with the truck.
It is understood the crash happened three miles outside the town on the Newry side of a railway bridge along the route.
One person, who was travelling in the car, was injured in the collision and is being treated in hospital. He has been taken to the Daisy Hill Hospital. The driver of the truck was treated for shock.
The PSNI in Newry have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
A 47-year-old motorcyclist who was seriously injured in a crash in Co Tyrone yesterday, has died. The man, who was riding a black Kawasaki motorcyle, was in collision with a black Mercedes van on the Baroney Road, at around 1.20pm.
The latest deaths bring the number of deaths on the Northern Ireland roads to 78 so far this year — compared with 73 deaths in the same period last year.
