Four men have been arrested after drug seizures in Dublin and Co Donegal.
Two men in their 60s are being questioned after 300 cannabis plants worth an estimated €240,000 were seized after a search at a house in Ballintra, Co Donegal.
Gardaí from Ballyshannon and members of the regional support unit conducted the operation.
The two are being questioned at Ballyshannon Garda station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1993.
In Dublin, a 25-year-old man is being questioned at Store Street Garda station after herbal cannabis with an estimated value of €180,000 was seized during a joint operation between the Garda National Drugs Unit and the Revenue’s Customs Service.
Some 9kg of the drug was recovered during the search of a house on Berkley Road, Dublin 7 last night.
“Revenue officials detected the herbal cannabis which was concealed in a cargo consignment when it arrived into Dublin Airport from Spain,” Revenue said in a statement.
“This joint operation resulted in the arrest of a Romanian national who is currently detained at Store Street Garda station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.”
Two stun guns were seized during follow up searches.
Separately, a man (20) has been arrested following the seizure of cocaine worth up to €40,000 in Coolock, Dublin.
The cocaine was found during a search at a house in Priorswood. The man, who was arrested at the scene, is being held at Coolock Garda station.
