Heroin with an estimated street value of €2 million has been seized by gardaí in Dublin following a planned operation last night.

Four men - three in their 20s and one in his 30s - were arrested in the raid in the Tallaght area.

The operation was undertaken by the Garda National Drugs Unit and the Irish Customs Service with the support of Tallaght gardaí.

Approximately 10kg (22lb) of a substance suspected to be heroin was recovered.

In addition a quantity of suspected cannabis and cocaine, with a combined street value of approximately €5,000 was also seized.

The four arrested men are currently being detained at Tallaght and Rathfarnham Garda Stations under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act.
