Four viable explosive devices have been made safe by an Army bomb disposal team in Dublin tonight.

The devices were found by gardaí after they stopped a stolen car in Harold’s Cross area at 7pm.

The bomb disposal team was deployed to Mount Argus Avenue a short time later. The area was cordoned off, and some nearby houses were evacuated.

The devices were rendered safe in situ without the need for a controlled explosion and were removed to a secure military location for further examination. They will be handed over to the gardaí to assist with their investigation into the incident.
