England's Paul Casey made a strong bid for his second European Tour title in three weeks when a best-of-the-week 64 took him into a four-way tie for the lead at the Volvo PGA Championship today.
Casey's eight-under-par return, taking him to 10-under-par 206, was rounded off with a 45-foot eagle putt to go with his flawless six birdies.
Casey is joined on 10-under by Ignacio Garrido, Mathias Gronberg and Trevor Immelman, all of whom are currently out on the course.
Stephen Leaney carded a tremendous seven-under par 65 and lies one shot off the lead. He holed three huge putts for three of his eight birdies after bogeying the second.
Ireland's Darren Clarke, who led by one overnight, got his third round off to a uneasy start and sits at seven under for the tournament - two over today.
After paring the opening two holes, he double bogeyed the next. But successive birdies at four and five steadied the cart before the wheels came off with a six at the par four seventh.
Earlier, Argentine Eduardo Romero recorded a 65 to finish one off Clarke's overnight lead. The 48-year-old Argentine, climbing from near bottom of the 76 survivors of Friday's cut, collected eight birdies and one bogey in fine conditions after teeing off just after dawn.
