Freed Irish hostage returns to Armagh

The UN worker who was held for 27 days, returned home following a short holiday with her husband, Mr Jose Maria Aranaz, after their reunion. She landed at Belfast City Airport on Sunday and left by a side entrance to maintain privacy.

Ms Flanigan (43), is a graduate of Queen's University, Belfast, and worked for a time as a solicitor in Portadown, a few miles from her home. She holds both British and Irish nationality.

The Flanigan family yesterday declined to make any appearance or statement.
