A French yacht with a crew of six on board was rescued earlier today when it got into difficulty off the Kerry coast.
The 36-foot boat sent out a mayday signal after its mast broke in gale force winds about three miles off the Blasket Islands.
The Valentia lifeboat and the Blasket Islands ferry went to its aid as the yacht was drifting towards the rocks. The yacht is now being towed to Dingle.
