The Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) closed down a Chinese restaurant in Dublin in May under food hygiene regulations.

The Yuan Chinese Restaurant, Parnell Street, Dublin, was served a FSAI closure order on May 9th but was allowed to reopen on May 14th. A closure order is served when it is deemed there is or might be a grave and immediate danger to public health.

In the FSAI's monthly statement, Dr John O'Brien, the body's chief executive, reminded businesses of the importance of refrigerating food correctly. "During warmer weather, strict adherence to hot and cold temperature controls are important, as bacteria can double every 20 minutes at room temperature," he said.
