A former features editor of The Irish Times, Mr Jack Jones, died on Sunday. He was 81. Mr Jones began his national newspaper career in 1949 when he joined the Irish Press. He remained with the Irish Press until the 1960s, when he joined The Irish Times, becoming features editor. He later became chief sub-editor of the Irish Press and retired as assistant editor in 1985.
He is survived by his wife, Joan, and by five children. His funeral took place yesterday.
