Leading politicians from both side of the border attended the funeral of the mother of Northern Ireland’s deputy first minister Martin McGuinness in Derry today.
Peggy McGuinness (84), died at her Elmwood Street home in the city's Bogside on Monday. She had been ill for several months.
Former taoiseach Albert Reynolds, Sinn Fein president Gerry Adams and former SDLP leader John Hume were among the mourners at Requiem Mass in St Columba's Church, Long Tower, in Derry.
Mrs McGuinness, who is survived by her seven children, is orginally from Donegal. She will be buried in St Mary's Cemetery, Cockhill, Buncrana.
