Sixteen year-old Nicola Murray from Cabragh died in the collision on a notorious stretch of road between Dungannon and Ballygawley on Wednesday morning.

The teenager's nine-year-old cousin Grainne Mallon, who was badly injured in the accident, yesterday remained in a critical condition in the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Belfast.

A funeral service for the GCSE pupil, who attended St Ciaran's High School in Ballygawley, was held at 11am in Church of Assumption in Tullyallen.

The popular student will be buried Carlan Road New Cemetery in Dungannon.

The crash happened as the school bus was turning off the A4 near Saint Mary's Primary School near Cabragh.

Nicola's twin Natasha, who was also on the bus, tended to her sister after the crash.

"I helped her as best I could, but she just wasn't responding," she said.

The Murray family has called for increased safety measures on the road in the wake of the tragedy.

The driver of the lorry was arrested after the incident but subsequently released.
