Fyffes has announced a joint marketing venture in the US with Colombian fruit exporter Uniban.
Under the terms of the deal, worth $6 million, Fyffes will take a joint share in Uniban's Florida-based subsidiary, Turbana.
Turbana markets over 10 million cases of bananas in the United States, with annual sales close to $100 million. The company has recently entered the pineapple market in the United States.
Fyffes chief executive David McCann, said the company was pleased have entered into this strategic alliance with Uniban - Fyffes's largest supplier of bananas.

"Uniban and ourselves intend to further grow Turbana's pineapple volumes in the United States", Mr McCann said.
