Fruit importer Fyffes said today it expects fiscal 2009 earnings to be between €20 million and €21 million.
This is at the upper end of the the €18 million to €22 million range for earnings forecast by the company in September. It is also a marked increase on the €15.3 million the company recorded in 2008.
Fyffes said it was able to report the rise in earnings even though trading conditions had been affected by exceptionally cold weather last month.
Year end net cash is expected to amount to approximately €37 million, Fyffes said in a statement.
The group said that is expects 2010 earnings to be in the range of €17 million and €22 million.
