A leading GAA who player tested under the Sport's Council's anti-doping programme has been provisionally suspended after an "adverse analytical finding regarding the therapeutic use of Salbutamol," the association has confirmed.

The suspension is in accordance with Irish anti-doping legislation and stands until the outcome of a meeting of the anti-doping hearings committee, though a date has yet to be scheduled.

The player will be required to prove that the finding is as a result of "therapeutic use of inhaled Salbutamol".

Salbutamol is a medication used for the treatment of asthma and bronchospasm. The player has not been named by the association.
