Road improvements in Gaeltacht areas will receive £5 million in State funding next year, according to the Minister of State, Mr Eamon O Cuiv. It is part of a £10 million allocation for the development works programme in the Gaeltacht, and £5 million will be spent on road improvements each year of the seven-year National Plan, he said in a statement.
The remaining £5 million next year will be used for pier works, village renewal, boithre aise, sports facilities, halls and Irish colleges. "These improvements will strengthen confidence in the Gaeltacht communities and the Irish language," Mr O Cuiv stated.
