GAA:Galway are virtually guaranteed a Leinster hurling final place after being drawn in the semi-final with one of five preliminary teams.
The Tribesmen will face one from Antrim, Westmeath, Laois, Carlow or London after all five came out on the same side of the draw this evening.
It means Offaly drew the short straw of defending champions Kilkenny in the quarter-finals while Dublin and Wexford will fight it out for a semi-final place.
The winners of those two games will meet each other in the semis.
Clare and Waterford will battle it out in the Munster senior hurling quarter-final for the right to face Cork in the last four, while defending champions Tippeary await Limerick in the semi-finals.
