May 27th - Tony Creed (36) was shot dead in the bedroom of his home in Clondalkin, Dublin. He was a known drug dealer who had clashed with local men in the weeks before his murder.

He had been dealing drugs from his house but was not a major player in the trade.

April 28th - Traveller Hughie McGinley (26) was shot dead in Sligo Town as part of an ongoing feud between two local family- based gangs. Although both gangs are involved in crime, mainly drug-related, the feud is not believed to be a turf war.

April 14th - Terry Dunleavy (27), Marino, Dublin, shot dead outside his girlfriend's flat at Croke Villas, near Croke Park.

A drug dealer, Dunleavy was killed because he stole money from another criminal.

May 26th - Colm Griffin (33) (left) and Eric Hopkins (24), both from Dublin's north inner city, were shot dead by a garda as they tried to rob a post office at gunpoint in Lusk, Co Dublin. Both were known to gardaí.

September 7th - Mark Glennon (32), a father of one child, was shot dead outside his home in Blanchardstown as part of an ongoing feud between rival west Dublin drug gangs.

He was a former member of the Westies gang and was a major cocaine dealer.

April 12th - Joseph Rafferty (28) shot dead outside his apartment on the Ongar estate in west Dublin. Gardaí believe he was shot by a former IRA member as part of a personal dispute. He was not a criminal.

May 14th - Martin Kenny (22) shot dead at his girlfriend's home in Ballyfermot, Dublin. The killing was believed to be drug related.

However, he was not a major drug dealer.

August 18th - The remains of Andrew Dillon (29), Finglas, Dublin, were found by a roadside near Ashbourne, Co Meath. He had been shot in the head. Although a known drug dealer, he was not a major player.

April 3rd - Dubliner Jimmy Curran (42) shot dead in the Green Lizard pub opposite the Tivoli Theatre in Dublin's inner city. A man has been charged in relation to this murder. Curran was not a criminal.

May 5th - Mark Byrne (31), Tallaght, Dublin, was shot dead when out on day release from Mountjoy Prison. He had assaulted another prisoner months earlier. He had convictions for drugs, robbery, larceny, assault.

August 13th - Eric Cummins (31) was shot dead outside his home in Ballincollig, Cork. Cummins was a drug dealer and gardaí believe his murder may be related to the trade.

Cummins also had links with the Limerick underworld.

March 9th - John Roche (24), Drimnagh, Dublin, shot dead in Kilmainham as a result of a four-year gangland feud which has claimed three lives. He was not a major criminal.

April 30th - Andrew Glennon (30), a brother of Mark Glennon, gunned down in Clonee, Co Meath. Gardaí believe the murder was part of the same drug gang feud that claimed his brother's life on Wednesday.August 10th - Vincent O'Brien (53) was shot at his home in Bray, Co Wicklow. He was a small-time drug dealer. He had clashed with another criminal figure a number of years before his death.

This feud was never resolved and is believed to be the motive for his murder.
