Gardaí last night called off their search for an English national, who has been missing since last April.
Tommy Thompson, 59, originally from Yorkshire, worked as a plasterer in Portlaoise, Co Laois, before his disappearance on April 21st.
A garda spokesperson said the four-day search had been called off indefinitely and was unlikely to resume in the near future.
Investigations focused on a road in Co Laois between Portlaoise and the nearby village of Stradbally.
