The Garda Síochána is today hosting an international seminar on the policing of international land borders.

The Garda Síochána is today hosting an international seminar on the policing of international land borders.

Co-operation between law enforcement authorities throughout Europe is set to be one of the key issues for discussion at the two day conference, which is taking place in Monaghan.

The seminar will feature presentations by police forces from Austria, Belgium, Finland, The Netherlands, Hungary and Northern Ireland. Observers from the Russian police will also attend.

The delegates are expected to be taken to Enniskillen, the Fermanagh border town and site of the 1987 IRA bombing that killed 11 people.
