Hosted by the Garda Training College, Templemore, the event brings together 12 groups from Munster to compete in various events.
Over 60 volunteers, invited guests, family and friends will share the experience and cheer on the athletes.
An opening ceremony will see the gathering recite the oath that each Special Olympics Athlete has taken: "Let me win. But if I cannot win, let me be brave in the attempt."
