A garda underwent surgery in the Mater hospital in Dublin yesterday following an incident in which his patrol car was rammed by another vehicle.
Two youths, believed to be under 18, have been arrested. The car in which the youths were travelling hit a traffic bollard in Fairview, burst a tyre, careered out of control, mounted a footpath in Artane, hit a lamp-post in Raheny and finally rammed into the Garda patrol car. The garda sustained arm fractures.
