GARDAI are investigating what appears to have been a stabbing incident which took place early yesterday morning in a secondary school in Nenagh, Co Tipperary.

Gardai would only confirm last night that an investigation was underway into "an alleged incident" which took place in a school in the town. Early this morning a spokeswoman for Nenagh County Hospital described the condition of a boy who was admitted yesterday following the incident as "comfortable".

Those involved in the accident were not seriously injured, the gardai at Nenagh Garda station said. They say that they were called quickly to the school.

The incident is believed to have involved two secondary school students. It is reported that one boy stabbed another during an incident, which happened at approximately 10 a.m.
