Gardai are investigating an incident in which shots were fired into a house in Limerick where a mother and her 14 month-old baby escaped injury.
The shooting took place in Castle Park, Moyross, on Monday evening. The single blast broke a front window and made a deep hole in the front door of the house. The shooting is being linked to a fight between a number of men in the city centre last week. A man living in the house was believed to be involved in the row.
Gardai stressed the incident has nothing to do with the murder investigation into the death of Mr Eddie Ryan in the Moose Bar, Cathedral Place, two weeks ago.
Garda sub-aqua divers have searched the Abbey river for the guns used in the murder of Mr Ryan, but nothing was found. A search of houses in St Mary's Park is ongoing.
