Gardaí have named the hillwalker whose body was found in the Wicklow mountains yesterday.
He was Mr Michael O'Neill (74), from Loughlinstown in Co Dublin. An experienced hillwalker, he was reported missing on Saturday after failing to return from walk along the Wicklow Way.
His body was found close to a river about a mile from where his hike was thought to have begun in the Aughavannagh area of the Wicklow mountains.
Up to 200 people were involved in the search, including members of the Dublin-Wicklow mountain rescue team, the Glen of Imaal mountain rescue unit, Civil Defence and a search-and-rescue dog unit.

A Coast Guard helicopter also searched the Wicklow Mountains yesterday morning but with no success.
