Gardaí in Co Donegal have appealed to witnesses to a crash in which a man was seriously injured to come forward.

The man (34) was taken to Letterkenny General Hospital for treatment following the single vehicle crash on the Drumkeen to Stranorlar road at Ballinaglack at 9.40pm last night.

Two other men travelling in the van were treated at the scene for minor injuries.

A Garda forensic team is examining the scene today and the road remains closed to traffic.

Separately, Gardaí are appealing for information after two people died following fatal crashes in Co Wexford and Co Mayo.

A 19-year-old man was killed after the car in which he was travelling hit a wall and entered the water in Courtown Harbour at about 10.30pm.

Two other occupants of the car swam to shore, but the man was taken from the water by emergency services and pronounced dead at the scene.

His body has been taken to Waterford Regional Hospital for a post mortem, and the scene has been preserved for a technical examination.

Gardaí in Gorey are seeking witnesses to the incident.

In a separate crash, a 21-year-old man died when the car in which they were travelling hit a grass verge at Clooneshil near Newport, Co Mayo, at about 3.15am yesterday morning.

The man was taken to Mayo General Hospital, along with a woman who was also injured in the car. The man was later pronounced dead.
