Gardaí in Longford are appealing for information about a serious road crash in which a two-year-old boy was seriously injured on Thursday.

At about 1.20pm on that day, three adults and four children were injured when the car in which they were travelling left the road and crashed into a wall on the R392 at Terlicken, Ballymahon. They were taken by ambulance to Mullingar Hospital.

A two-year-old boy in the car was seriously injured and has since been removed to Temple Street Hospital. A female passenger, aged in her 30s, remains in Mullingar Hospital with non life threatening injuries. All the other passengers have since been discharged.

The scene was examined by garda forensic collision investigators.

Gardaí are particularly appealing to anybody travelling on the R392 between Ballymahon and Lanesborough last Thursday between 1pm and 1.45pm to contact them.
