Gardai have arrested three people in connection with a shooting incident in Limerick last night, in which a young man was injured.
Two men and a woman are being held under section 30 of the Offences Against The State Act for questioning about the incident in the Moyross area of the City.
Meanwhile a man in his fifties is said to be in a stable condition in hospital after being seriously injured in another shooting yesterday in the City.
Gardai arrested a man in his late teens in connection with the attack at a house on Oliver Plunkett Street in the St Mary's Park estate at around 7.30pm yesterday evening.
The man arrested is being held at Mayorstone Garda Station under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act.
The victim is understood to have been shot at least four times. He is said to be in a serious but stable condition in Mid-West Regional hospital.
The injured man has been named locally as Sean Keane, the brother of murdered crime boss Kieran Keane, who was shot dead in January 2003.
It is not clear if the two shootings are related.
