Gardaí investigating the murder of Donegal man Shaun Duffy at his home last Saturday are this morning carrying out a forensic examination on a car.
The results of a post-mortem on Mr Duffy's body are not being released by gardaí due to operational reasons, although it is believed they revealed that Mr Duffy suffered several wounds to his head and other parts of his body.
Gardaí have confirmed they have evidence that a crossbow was used in the murder of Mr Duffy.
A murder inquiry began on Sunday night after Mr Duffy (36) was found with serious head injuries in Meenacross, near Dungloe, on Saturday afternoon.
House-to-house inquiries were carried out in the Meenacross and Maghery areas of west Donegal last night. Gardaí are also trying to trace people who were in the Strand Bar at nearby Maghery on the night prior to the murder.
Mr Duffy was last seen alive at 2.30 a.m. on Saturday when he left his parent's house nearby. He is likely to have driven there from the Strand View bar where he had been socialising on Friday night.
Garda forensic experts have been examining the location, and Garda sources last night indicated there were signs of a struggle in the house, suggesting he had been attacked. His body was found by his younger brother on Saturday afternoon.
Chief Supt Noel White said gardaí are not yet following any definite line of inquiry.
