Gardai find drugs in north Dublin, two arrested

Gardaí have seized cocaine worth €22,000 in north Dublin and arrested two people.

Gardaí have seized cocaine worth €22,000 in north Dublin and arrested two people.

The cocaine, and a small quantity of cannabis resin, was found during a planned search in Riverside Grove, Clonshaugh.

A 29-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman were arrested and are being held at Coolock Garda Station under Section 2, Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.

Meanwhile, a Guyanese man who was arrested at Dublin Airport last night carrying a quantity of cocaine is being questioned by gardaí.

He arrived on a flight from Brazil via Amsterdam. He was searched by immigration officials who found the cocaine in his pockets. He then said had also swallowed a quantity of the drug.

He was taken to Beaumont Hospital and then to Santry Garda station.
