Gardaí and members of the Civil Defence were yesterday combing an area in Co Cork where a missing man was last seen. Stephen O'Connor (26), from Innishmore Park in Ballincollig, was last sighted on the town's main street at about 12.30pm on Sunday, December 9th.
He was dropped off outside a petrol station by a member of his family. He said he planned to go to Cork city later that day but he has not been seen since.
The unemployed Cork man, who lives with his mother, is on medication and his family is extremely concerned for his safety.
Yesterday's search from the regional park to the Angler's Rest pub in Cork was co-ordinated by gardaí at Gurranabraher and involved members of the Civil Defence and sub-aqua club divers.
Mr O'Connor was last seen at Main Street in Ballincollig, wearing a three-quarter length black leather jacket over a white hoody top, blue jeans and white runners. He is described as being 180cm (5ft 11in) tall with average build and short black hair.

Meanwhile, gardaí have renewed their appeal for assistance in tracing the whereabouts of Colin Turner (33) from Co Cork. Mr Turner has been missing from his home on Priests Avenue in Ringaskiddy since February 14th.
He is 179cm tall, of strong build and with blue eyes. He is described as being clean shaven, with dark brown hair which he ties up in a pony tail.
When last seen he was wearing a black leather jacket, black jeans, black T-shirt and a baseball cap. He generally wears dark clothing.
