Gardaí are treating as suspicious the discovery of a body in a slurry pit on a farm in Co Cork. It was found at 8.40am on the farm at Shanlaragh, Dunmanway.
Gardaí said this evening they were now satisfied that it was a human body that was discovered on the farm.
They said the body would remain at the scene until tomorrow when it will be removed to Cork University Hospital for a post mortem examination.
Gardai are understood to have been acting on information. The age, gender and identity of the body are not known at this stage.

The scene has been sealed off for examination and the State Pathologist, the Garda Technical Bureau and members of the Garda Water Unit have been requested.
